Alberta Rose |
We drove from our housesit location near Rimbey, Alberta, to visit Laddi and Paul in Springbrook, Alberta. This lovely couple was our first get-together with believers during our week-long travel excursion throughout the Central Alberta Cluster.
We’d called nearly all the voting members and were able to connect with some who were ready, willing and able to have a home visit.
Laddi and Paul welcomed us into their home and lavished us with juice and pie. Frank and I spent a wonderful time listening to their stories of declaring their belief in Baha’u’llah as the current Messenger of God and the life they’ve spent, so far, exploring and teaching the Faith.
Our elevated spiritual conversation included the explanation of a home visit as described by the Universal House of Justice as an opportunity to enter into a deep conversation on spiritual matters, and not a mere social call.
We shared the daily readings with Laddi and Paul from the book Reciting the Versus of God.
“Purify thou, first, thy soul with the waters of renunciation, and adorn thine head with the crown of the fear of God, and thy temple with the ornament of reliance upon Him.” – Epistle to the Son of the Wolf

Dean of Ponoka, AB

Ponoka Rodeo Symbol |
This down-to-earth new believer came to know Baha’u’llah as the Greatest Name and in January 2017 declared his belief in the Faith. We met Dean in a public place and he showed his dedication to the Faith by expressing how he came to recognize the reasonable common sense of the Writings he’d explored so far.
We shared with him that a home visit could be held practically anywhere as long as the conversation includes a strong spiritual component. It didn’t take long for Dean to express his love for the Faith.
We were encouraged to recommend that he start the Ruhi 1 study course and he was keen on the idea. We let him know that we would be in touch with other group members who could help guide his learning journey.
We shared the daily readings with Dean.
Justice and Fairness – “O people of God! That which traineth the world is Justice, for it is upheld by two pillars, reward and punishment. These two pillars are the sources of life to the world.” – Tablets of Baha’u’llah
“No light can compare with the light of justice. The establishment of order, in the world and the tranquillity of the nations depend upon it.” – Epistle to the Son of the Wolf

Wetaskiwin Water Tower |
We travelled to Wetaskiwin to meet with Lyda of Ponoka and Sally of Wetaskiwin. Sally has recently relocated to this city and is hoping to meet with other Baha’is registered on the voting list. We spoke with both ladies in a local restaurant.
We learned from Sally how she came to the Faith and how practical it seemed to her that she would evolve from her past attempts to satisfy her need for spirituality and glide smoothly into the Baha’i Faith. She also shared that she’d once been a service provider at the Sylvan Lake Baha’i School as a cook.
Lyda of Ponoka is a good friend. We had met with her in her home and had engaged in a meaningful home visit there. You can learn more about Lyda through the ‘One Baha’i at a Time’ page of the Baha'is of Campbell River website. Lyda of Ponoka, AB
We shared the daily readings with Sally and Lyda.
Justice and Fairness – “Know verily that the essence of justice and the source thereof are both embodied in the ordinances prescribed by Him who is Manifestation of the Self of God amongst men, if ye be of them that recognize this truth.” – Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah
“He, [the Manifestation] doth verily incarnate the highest, the infallible standard of justice unto all creation. Were His law to be such as to strike terror into the hearts of all that are in heaven and on earth, that law is naught but manifest justice.” – Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah
